About The Winemakers
Dave and Eileen Smack have been Maryland Eastern Shore residents a majority of their lives.
What started as a hobby on the historic Lands Point Farm in 2008 has now become an experience worth sharing with the community as a winery opening to the public in Summer 2022.
A New Winery Built on
Rich History
Come and enjoy our waterfront winery ideally positioned overlooking the sloping banks of Worton Creek minutes away from the scenic Chesapeake Bay on land steeped in history: originally granted by Cecil Calvert, the 2nd Lord Baltimore, to Lieutenant General Josias Fendall, the 4th proprietary Governor of the Maryland Colony in 1659; subsequently occupied for over a century and a half by 6 generations of one of the founding Quaker families of Kent County; and utilized as a commercial side-wheeler Steam Boat stop post Civil War.
About Lands Point Winery & Vineyards
Lands Point is a small batch, family-owned winery producing dry red and white wines from grapes grown on site.
We offer wine tastings indoors in our “Big White Dog” tasting room and outdoors, weather-permitting, at various scenic venues on our historic waterfront farm. Reservations for tastings are encouraged and can be requested on this website.

Being one of the few wineries accessible by boat on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, a unique experience tasting wine and exploring the waterfront farm are an afternoon to be remembered.
Unique Setting Translates to Savory Flavors
Good wine starts and ends with good grapes. Our grapes benefit from the cool late summer evenings found on the Northern Eastern Shore, a southeast facing sloped vineyard placement with natural morning and evening air convection currents, and sandy loam, well-drained soil.
These factors contribute to our ability to produce quality grapes that become quality wine.
All of our wines are made from grapes grown in our vineyard and this gives the wines a special uniqueness, terroir and taste profile we think you will enjoy.
